The breed is most likely to have stemmed from sled dogs common in the Arctic and has close links to such breeds as the Keeshond, Norwegian Elkhound, and Samoyed. These dogs were also bred in eastern part of modern Germany and were named after a coastal region. Pomeranian clothes are not recommended while training the puppy.
